This painting is of a sunrise from the first morning I was here in Australia. It reminds me of what the beginning was like and how new everything was. I created this by just free hand painting and went with the flow. Overall I am very happy with this turnout.
This piece is 8 watercolour and blind contour drawings put together to show my time in Australia. I tried to follow a colour scheme of blue, green, and yellow to bring the piece together. I used watercolour for the background and then loosely blind contour drew overtop. I feel like the colours and looseness of the piece shows the mood I was trying to get across and what my time felt like in Australia. I had to redo the bottom paper because I tried to go out of my colour scheme, but I didn't like how it looked and redid it. I really like how this turned out.
This piece is a visual journal of addiction. I chose addiction because it is very relevant and something I find interesting. The colours and shapes show the craziness of what your brain does on alcohol and drugs. I have always loved doing visual journals and it was fun incorporating this theme into one. I made this by first putting down the base layer of different colours of paint and each day I added a new layer. I learned that I need a focal point of my art to make it feel finished to me, thats why I added the contour drawing of the lady reaching out because that is my point of focus. Overall I am very happy with how it turned out.
