1 Who/What inspired you to create this painting? Explain. How is this artwork about who you are or what you like?
I have seen stuff on Pinterest where there is an image, such as space or random colours behind another image, such as a person or the ocean. The photos are unrealistic and they are really cool. I wanted to make mine look something like this, but changed in my own way. 2 How did you make this piece unique - Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original? Explain. I made this piece unique by adding the acrylic image transfer on top of my painting. This wall all my idea because I wanted something original. 3. Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? Did you gain skill with familiar materials? How? I have done a few small acrylic image transfers but nothing this size. I built on my skills with this technique and I also was familiar with the painting part of my piece. 4. Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project? Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar? I wasn't sure that the acrylic transfer was going to work. 5. How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you work? Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned? I used jesso before I started painting and it caused me to not be able to marble like emma lindstrom did in her paintings. I had to just paint something that looked like marble. Another unplanned thing was when I did my acrylic image transfer, the paper wasn't fully staying off when it would dry and then I would try to add more water to get rid of all the paper but it just made the image tear and get soggy. I fixed this by finally adding acrylic matte gloss. 6. Overall how do you feel about the finished piece? Was it successful? Why? Yes it was very successful. It wasn't how i pictured it to turn out, but for all the unexpected turns I took it is very successful.

Emma Lindstrom was born on April 14, 1978 In Sweden. She still Lives in Sweden but a different place than she was born. She marbles paintings by using microscopic brain waves or looking down on earth from a spaceship in space as a image to look off of. All of her paintings don't have a title, date, size, or medium. She isn't a very well know Artist, The focal point is the white at the top closer to the left corner. I know this because when I close my eyes then open them again, thats the first place I look. Different shades of blue and green, there is also white and brown. I think this painting is a view from space. She painted them to make them have depth or rocks in the ocean. The texture looks rough and rocky. This painting is most likely the view of a part of earth from space.
I have always loved the world, or travel, or different places. This is painting a place from above so I really like it. She wants everyone to feel connected because the universe it built on energy. I like how she used the different colours to catch different people's eyes. Her work portrays nothing short of life itself. a)What problems did you encounter while you were working on this piece? How did you solve them?
I couldn't get the right skin tone for my person, it was too yellow at the beginning. I solved this by putting orange and pink in different spots to make it look like a real face. I also had another problem that because I was using so much watercolour, it soon started to tear the paper. I used a hairdryer to help me continue working but I just ended up leaving it. b)How have your skills improved over the course of this project? I think I have gotten really good at drawing from the exact image. My watercolour blending also improved. c)What areas could you improve on? I think I could improve on blending the face more. As I look at it I notice it is blotchy. d)What was especially satisfying to you about either the process, or the finished product? I was really happy with how it turned out, and looking almost like the picture. e)What is the one thing you would like others to notice when they look at your piece? All the hard work I put in to make it look this way and almost real. This piece inspired me. I really like the different, more abstract colours used in the drawing. The medium i am using is oil pastels I hope to achieve a realistic drawing I am looking forward to the video at the end of the kids receiving our drawing of them
