1 Who/What inspired you to create this painting? Explain. How is this artwork about who you are or what you like?
I have seen stuff on Pinterest where there is an image, such as space or random colours behind another image, such as a person or the ocean. The photos are unrealistic and they are really cool. I wanted to make mine look something like this, but changed in my own way. 2 How did you make this piece unique - Did you use a source for inspiration, then combine it with your own ideas to make it original? Explain. I made this piece unique by adding the acrylic image transfer on top of my painting. This wall all my idea because I wanted something original. 3. Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? Did you gain skill with familiar materials? How? I have done a few small acrylic image transfers but nothing this size. I built on my skills with this technique and I also was familiar with the painting part of my piece. 4. Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project? Did you pick a material or technique that was new or different over something that was familiar? I wasn't sure that the acrylic transfer was going to work. 5. How did you respond to challenges that occurred as you work? Did your work take an unexpected turn due to a mistake or did something happen that was unplanned? I used jesso before I started painting and it caused me to not be able to marble like emma lindstrom did in her paintings. I had to just paint something that looked like marble. Another unplanned thing was when I did my acrylic image transfer, the paper wasn't fully staying off when it would dry and then I would try to add more water to get rid of all the paper but it just made the image tear and get soggy. I fixed this by finally adding acrylic matte gloss. 6. Overall how do you feel about the finished piece? Was it successful? Why? Yes it was very successful. It wasn't how i pictured it to turn out, but for all the unexpected turns I took it is very successful.
